GNT Names DKSH to Distribute EXBERRY Plant-Based Colors in Vietnam
Starting October 12, DKSH distributes GNT's EXBERRY colors in Vietnam, with technical support for beverages, confectionery and dairy.
Demand for natural colors is not just a U.S. story. GNT has appointed DKSH to bring its EXBERRY plant-based colors to manufacturers in Vietnam.
TLDR
- DKSH became GNT’s EXBERRY distributor in Vietnam on October 12.
- The focus is beverages, confectionery and dairy.
- DKSH will also provide formulation and application support.
- EXBERRY colors are made from fruit, vegetables and plants.
The Deal
GNT, which makes EXBERRY colors from non-GMO fruit, vegetables and plants, appointed DKSH as its distributor in Vietnam, according to Asia Food Beverages and Asia Food Journal. DKSH’s Performance Materials business will handle market access, distribution and logistics.
DKSH Vietnam will also offer technical support, including formulation guidance, process support and concept development, to help manufacturers switch to plant-based colors. DKSH has operated in Vietnam since 1991.
What the Companies Say
“EXBERRY colors allow manufacturers to deliver the natural and eye-catching products consumers want to see,” said Andreas Thiede, general manager of GNT Singapore.
Cesar Saez, vice president of global food and beverage ingredients for DKSH Performance Materials, pointed to rising demand “for natural and clean-label products” across the market.
Why It Matters
Southeast Asia is a major manufacturing hub for beverages and confectionery sold around the world. As more brands commit to dropping synthetic dyes, the natural color suppliers that build local distribution and technical support in these markets will be best placed to win reformulation work.
